A THIS IS FABRIC Exclusive.

DRIES VAN NOTENPRECISION TAILORING, PAINTERLY PRINTS, EFFORTLESS COOL.

Dries Van Noten is a designer who resists trend and embraces individuality.
Since its inception from 1986, the brand is known for impeccable craftsmanship and detailing, fused with the outstanding choice and combination of material and colour - a timeless piece in anyone’s wardrobe.
THIS IS FABRIC, Co-founder Martin Andrews is excited to welcome (back) exclusively Dries Van Noten menswear to New Zealand. Marty shares his dear admiration of the brand, following Dries for over 20 years, and his personal favourites from the new SS25 RTW collection.

Q: How did you discover Dries Van Noten?

Marty: I first came across Dries Van Noten when reading Arena Magazine - immediately I was drawn to the colours, textures and silhouettes of his designs.

I’ve always been a keen shopper, always searching for something different as menswear at my time was very conservative. Finally seeing a Dries Van Noten piece in person began my deep admiration (and consistent purchases)

Q: What do you admire about Dries Van Noten?

Marty: He’s been going since 1986 and has stayed mostly independent.
He has stayed true to his design & aesthetic nor is he swayed by trends or fast fashion.

Q: How did you buy and select the pieces for this SS25 RTW collection?

We bought it with the motivation of aiming to appeal to a variety of men. The tailored, structured pieces to appeal to a more mature, working man - The oversized, relaxed pieces to appeal to a modern, young professional.

We wanted to build a modular wardrobe for all different profiles and lifestyles of men

The Spring/Summer 2025 menswear collection was Dries Van Noten's final collection as Creative Director of his namsake brand, presented in Paris in June 2024. It was his 129th show and 150th collection marking the end of his 38-year career. While he is stepping down as creative director he remains in the brand in a directory role.
