Interview with Giada Forte | Co-Owner & Designer of Forte Forte
Q. Forte Forte is deeply rooted in emotion. How do you translate feeling into fabric and silhouette? |
| Giada: Everything always starts from a journey, a sensation, an experience. discovering a new voyage every time; letting inner sensation speak freely. Our collections always portray an emotive voyage, emotions are then translated into a profound research of textiles and finishes that becomes little by little a garment. i believe in the importance of special, precious details that make a piece unique and love dedicating great attention to colour shades. I like the idea that a collection can make you dream for a while and that, when you buy a piece, you feel part of it. | |
| Q: What emotions or ideas were you exploring in your most recent collection? | |
| Giada: The new Forte_Forte “et voilà” Autunno 2025 collection speaks about finding a new lightness, a new soft beauty, luminous and feminine, reflected in caressing fabrics and deconstructed volumes: fluffy eco–mongolia fur, light wool cashmere fabric, soleil cavalry denim, and contemporary organza deceive the eye and delight the body. The primary palette is essential, with phard, cameo, poudre and rubis, with hints of peoni and tangerine. and ultimately, warm and mysterious in the tones of ambra, nuage, noisette and notte, enhanced a true intimacy between the garment and the wearer. |

| Q: Can you walk us through your creative process—from the first spark of inspiration to the final garment? | |
| Giada: Each collection begins from an instinctive inspiration, which can be a painting, a melody, a piece of vintage fabric. then, we build up a dialogue in which each of us is part of the brainstorming. Day by day we build up a moodboard where little by little a story takes shape. We had inspiring images, objects, little pieces of colours, fabrics…we then dedicate a lot of time designing and developing the right fabrics and shades that would express the garment properly. Every garment is then carefully crafted with dedication. We like to allow every piece the freedom to express itself through its shape and colour. What I love most about my work is that we try to convey in every forte_forte piece that special human touch with which every garment is imagined and designed. |

Q: Where do you find inspiration beyond fashion? Are there specific places, artists, or rituals that consistently move you? |
Giada:I try to always follow my instinct and listen to imagination, i transform my voyages into beautiful textiles and atemporal pieces. everywhere i go, i like visiting vintage or local markets; they are real treasures. i love discovering the colours, perfumes and traditional textiles that characterise a special place. |

Q: How has your personal style evolved since founding Forte_Forte? |
Giada: I always like to discover things little by little, with respect...i use a lot my senses, our collections always spring from a perfumed or tactile sensation.

Q. Is there a piece from any collection that feels especially close to your heart? |
Giada: My brother paolo and i come from a knitting tradition that began with our grandmother. we grew up surrounded by cones of yarn and the sound of knitting machines, with mom and dad coming home with wool threads stuck everywhere. therefore, i have a very strong connection to knitwear, which has shaped my training as a designer. I think that’s the reason why i’m so sensible and fascinated by developing always new fabrics. i always have a very emotional relationship to every garment we have designed, I remember exactly each one of them as part of my personal path. if there is one i want to mention is certainly a voile gauze white caftan that i designed as the very first piece of forte_forte. |

Q: What does luxury mean to you in today’s world? |
| Giada: Luxury has changed significantly in recent years. it used to be synonymous with exclusivity, high prices, unreachable pieces and social-economic status. that kind of luxury concept has never resonated in my cultural growth, and I feel that even nowadays, many people no longer believe in this traditional idea of luxury. it feels distant and disconnected from everyday life, it also loses its emotional power. today, luxury means something else: it's about things that carry real value – in terms of care, devotion, and respect in their creation. luxury is what endures, what is crafted with skill, what tells a true story. it speaks about authenticity. a luxury piece is not a piece you wear to chase a trend but to convey timeless beauty and cultural meaning. |

How has Forte_Forte grown or shifted since its inception? Has your creative vision changed with it? |
Giada: forte_forte was born from the desire to create a personal, precious project that completely reflect our personality: a special wardrobe with timeless design, made of handcrafted clothes full of emotions. Our first pieces were three customised hand-embroidered t-shirts, a gauze caftan, a long shirt, a voile shirt and tye pants.
