For those of us living in Auckland, it’s nearly time to hit send on those automated out-of-office emails and mute the work chat because we’ve got two long weekends comin’ on up!
Whether you’re setting your phone to ‘do not disturb’ for some much needed r&r or heading to the beach, we’ve put together a collection of essentials to make sure you get the most out of whatever it is you're doing.
SITUATION 1: Aperol's at Beau
If you haven't visited yet, the time is now! Beau is a small wine bar nestled away in the heart of Three Lamps, Ponsonby Road. It’s seriously the sweetest little spot, the ceviche dish is bomb and the drinks are always on point. Beau’s strength above all is the way in which the staff make you feel right at home. Go, get there, now!
Our dream Beau look: Rachel Comey Comodore Skirt (which features a roomy elasticated paperbag waist for you to eat & drink all the things with ease), Rachel Comey Revision Top, & Rachel Comey Grader Clogs.
SITUATION 2: Barbie at the beach
If you’re one of those super organised people that take gazebos and bbq’s to the beach, you’re gonna need some help with the transportation process. While the Apolis x FABRIC Market Bag probably won’t quite fit the bbq, it’s a beach essential for sure!
Other things we think might be useful: The Mahsa Billow Sleeve Blouse - perfect for throwing on over togs and Totême Rugada Pumps - easy for whipping off for a quick dip.
SITUATION 3: Do not disturb: Digital detox
Digital detox - “a period of time when a person voluntarily refrains from using digital devices such as smartphones, computers and social media platforms” (thanks Wiki!). If you’re anything like us, staying home and having some quality ‘you’ time while simultaneously not worrying about what’s poppin’ off on the gram might be just what you need.
To invigorate your digital detox, we recommend indulging yourself with some Comme des Garçons Incense, Pas de Calais Drawstring Pant, and a Sunspel Cami.
